“AI” this and “AI” that. Nowadays, it is talked about everywhere, especially within schools. The reality is that AI is taking over. Whether the task be large or small, it seems as though no one can go through the day without running to ChatGBT for something.
WAKE UP EVERYONE! You are more than likely spending more time talking to a robot than you are to real people. If that does not sound unfortunate for you, then you are a part of the problem.
Consider the following: When was the last time you completed an assignment without the “assistance” of artificial intelligence? Beyond the world of school, when was the last time you googled a question or opened a book to find an answer?
Although it may seem inconvenient, you are constantly being fed the surface level answers. Little do you know, which you probably do not because AI has eliminated all capabilities of curating original thought, you are hindering all creative abilities from having everything generated for you.
If the mere thought of you not being able to make decisions, process your own emotions, and simply go about life without the aid of a robot does not scare you, I fear you are in too deep. Look around your surroundings, there are books everywhere you turn. They were not made for no reason, and although some may be outdated, use them as a reminder that there was a time before AI.
In the article, “Bad and dangerous…’: OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s warning to young people who rely ‘too much’ on ChatGPT,” Sam Altman in his speech at the federal reserve banking conference reiterates that people overly rely on AI.
“People rely on ChatGPT too much. There’s young people who say things like, ‘I can’t make any decision in my life without telling ChatGPT everything that’s going on. It knows me, it knows my friends. I’m gonna do whatever it says.’ That feels really bad to me.”
This all comes down to how society is getting dumber and it is due to their own hands. Convenience is key, but so is knowing how to use your brain.
Billionaires do not care about you, nor do the robots they create. If the creators of this product are feeling guilty for the oppression they have caused and that should be enough for individuals to WAKE UP, and think for themselves.
