If you have younger siblings in your family who like to stay up late to catch santa, “That Christmas” (2024) is the perfect pick. “That Christmas” centers around a town on the seaside hit by a large blizzard, one of the largest ones in history. This blizzard ruins everyone’s Christmas plans, including Santa Claus himself. The film features a song Ed Sheeran wrote specifically for this movie called “Under the tree.” If this one does not quite fit the vibe, other Christmas Netflix movies that young kids will enjoy are: “The Snow Sister” (2024), “Best Christmas Ever” (2023), and “Family Switch” (2023).
Once the younger ones are asleep, it is time to explore some of the sappy hallmark films on netflix. “Hot Frosty”(2024) on Netflix is a new take on Frosty the Snowman. Kathy (Lacey Chabert) receives a red scarf from a neighborhood old woman which reminds her of first meeting her husband. Kathy, who is widowed, finds no hope in love, discarding the scarf on a man-shaped snowman. The snowman, Jack (Dustin Milligan) comes to life, only remembering Kathy who put the scarf on him that night. Other adult Christmas Netflix films that will bring Christmas cheer are, “Meet Me Next Christmas” (2024), “Our Little Secret” (2024), and “The Merry Gentlemen” (2024).
If you are not up for romance or an animated film and would prefer to go to the movies then, “Red One”(2024) is an action packed Christmas movie that will leave you on the edge of your seat. When Christmas is around the corner, Santa Claus is kidnapped from the north pole! In order to save Santa, an E.L.F (Extremely Large and Formidable) operation ensues, in order to get Santa home and Christmas back in business.
