Welcome Back Mr. Harrigan

William Harrigan may be new to the school this year, but he is not new to UACHS. After a few years at Warren County Tech in Washington Township, New Jersey, Harrigan is glad to be back in town.

Six and a half years ago, Harrigan completed his student teaching experience at UACHS. With his experience and previous run here at UACHS he feels prepared and ready to take on whatever the school year has to offer. Harrigan teaches U.S. History to our sophomores and juniors and he believes that this is the perfect fit for him.

“Without question, I am definitely built for teaching high school,” said Harrigan. “I know the school community, and I enjoy working here.”

Harrigan is familiar with this specific school environment, so when the opportunity arose to work here, he took it and was satisfied with his choice.

“Most of the staff who worked here back then, are still here, so it was kind of like a reunion of sorts,” said Harrigan.

While teaching has been his main focus as of recently, Harrigan was actually a sports writer for ten years. Having covered athletes all over the state of New Jersey, Harrigan has reported on many sports. When someone enjoys something as much as Harrigan enjoys sports writing, it becomes more than just an occasional hobby.

“I have had a blast writing, I have made a lot of money, and made a lot of good relationships doing it as well, I would recommend this as a second career to anybody,” said Harrigan.

Harrigan loves what he does and urges others to consider the possibility of becoming a sports writer if they are a good writer and a critic of sports.

Harrigan cannot wait to change and inspire the students at UACHS for the better.

“I am happy to be at UACHS after so many years away,” said Harrigan. “ It is nice to be back.”
